Touch ups

Today, Mike and I were tackling some of our final house projects. We have found a great family to rent out our home and we want to make everything special and new for them. So we started taking everything off the walls and patching and touching up the paint.
As we got to the kitchen, I was overcome with emotion. I remember putting that rusty yellow color on bare white walls and Mike saying "wow, it looks better than I thought!". It was our first house, first wall, first color. We got to transform something white and dull into a wall with life and fun!
I bet that's how God views our heart. Completely white, lifeless and empty without his love. Then when we come to find his grace and love in our life, we start to fill with color and become the start of something beautiful. Our walls learn to give and love, to accept and forgive with grace. Along the way, just like we did today, we all need a touch up. Maybe your heart has been hardened with bitterness or doubt, or maybe you feel like life is going great so God can wait. Where ever you are, God has the paintbrush and is ready to touch up our heart with his plan and his guidance. We just have to trust that he knows best and sit back and wait for a masterpiece!

A heart at peace gives life to the body- Proverbs 14:30
