Patience
I would say I am generally not a very patient person. If I want something, I get it, or make it happen. I don't really stress about things I can't control, but generally my patience is small. Well, Lucy is pushing my patience button a lot. Puppies are always unpredictable, and I should know that, but I learned the hard way last night. Silly me, I left her out for a few hours and she chewed a hole in the arm of the couch. Her cute face is the only thing that keeps her from distinction. It's part my fault, we got a training coach for her/us and I have been slacking on the obedience thing. Seems like when things get comfy, things get messed up. So we are back to tough love. In a way, I feel relief knowing we have control again, but it is a constant battle. Good lessons for when we have kids. Lucy has been teaching me many things about purpose and leadership. Once I change my mind set, I see her purpose more clearly. I can totally picture myself 20 years from now telling my kid, "do you know how much responsibility a dog is? You have to feed it, clean up after it, walk it. We don't have time for that" Funny the lessons that only life can teach you.
