I have always stressed the importance of the little things. It's the little things in my marriage, that make it so special. I even wrote it in my vows. It's the little things in friendships, that make them lasting. Well, this past week, I have experienced a lot of little things that I am so grateful for. I have been pretty sick for the past week, missing 2.5 days of work, and just when I was going to break down from eatting nothing but ramen noodles all week, I get a package in the mail from my mom. She sent me a getwell goody box. It was so fun of love, it seemed to jump out of the box. It was little things like a book (chicken soup for the soul), a box of tea, antibacterial...but it was the best medicine. It was so thoughtful, and so unexpected, she seems to know me better then I know myself. It was just what I needed.
Then on Saturday, I get a call at about 8pm and it's my brother. We don't talk much on the phone, mainly e-mail, and he said, "I have someone hear who wants to talk to you". And my little nephew gets on the phone (he's three!) to thank me for his birthday present and tell me all about his party. I was in shock. How thoughtful of my brother and his wife, to call, and how awesome that they are teaching their child the importance of the little things, like saying thanks. I was sad that I had to miss Dillion's party, so the call really made my night. I feel like just when I get beaten down to the point of giving up, God comes and carries me to end. And how awesome, that through these small acts, I feel closer to the ultimate giver!! So I challenge you to do a small act of something, to someone today, to show them your love and the Fathers!!
